Standards, accreditation, and legal and scientific metrology all fall within the remit of the Directorate for Standards and Quality (STAMEQ*). STAMEQ is under the Ministry of Science and Technology.
Within STAMEQ there are the following institutes:
* Some international organisations refer to STAMEQ as TCVN.
** Ionising radiation metrology is the responsibility of INST, a laboratory of the Vietnam Atomic Energy Commission.
