In Russia, all standards, accreditation and metrology activities fall under Rostekhregulirovaniye^*, the Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology. Rostekhregulirovaniye is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Industry and Energy, and was formed by decree in 2004.

Although Rostekhregulirovaniye has responsibility for accreditation in Russia, it is not a member of the international bodies ILAC and IAF, nor of any regional bodies such as APLAC.

Rostekhregulirovaniye acts directly through its territorial bodies and the organisations under its jurisdiction, such as the various NMIs listed below.
