The Qatar General Organization for Standards and Metrology (QS)^* is the only Qatari body authorised to:

• prepare, endorse and publish standard specifications
• issue and endorse conformity certificates for standard and quality specifications
• ensure conformance
• spread awareness of standardisation and metrology activities among all concerned parties
• highlight the regional and international developments in this field
• represent Qatar in international and regional organisations for standards and metrology
• propose legislation pertaining to standards and metrology.

Qatar is a member of AIDMO, a regional body with interest in standards and accreditation. QS is not named as a specific member, but is the most likely body to represent Qatar in AIDMO at a technical level.
