In Mexico, standards are the responsibility of the Dirección General de Normas of the Ministry of the Economy. DGN is also responsible for legal metrology, although it is not a full member of OIML.
Accreditation is the responsibility of entidad mexicana de acreditación. ema was established by the Commerce and Industrial Promotion Secretary in 1999 as a non-profit organisation.
Metrology is the responsibility of Centro Nacional de Metrología*. CENAM was established in 1992, under the Ministry of the Economy.
* Except for ionising radiation metrology, which is the responsibility of ININ.
