The information given for each country should help you form a view of that country's metrology, standards and accreditation infrastructure.

This infrastructure underpins trade and allows companies to demonstrate the quality of their products. End-users and regulators in countries that are signatories to metrological and accreditation mutual recognition arrangements and agreements are more likely to accept UK issued certificates, avoiding technical barriers to trade, through the 'tested once, accepted everywhere' concept. The UK comparative figures and the level of regional and international engagement give an indication of the level of technological development of a country and the maturity of the associated infrastructure.

More information about these and other countries is available from the UK Trade & Investment website.
